Rodolfo Leandro Nascimento Silva

AMBASSADOR

Rodolfo is a biologist with a master’s degree in Biological Diversity and Conservation in the Tropics from the Federal University of Alagoas (UFAL). He earned his PhD in Biodiversity and Evolutionary Biology from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ). He worked as a researcher with the Rio Doce Mar Network, contributing to the assessment of the impacts of the Fundão dam collapse (Mariana, Minas Gerais) on the marine benthos of the continental shelf. He has experience in zoology, with an emphasis on the morphological and molecular systematics of marine annelids, and in ecology, focusing on benthic macrofaunal metacommunities and impact assessments in coastal marine environments. He has extensive experience in biodiversity data analysis using the R programming language. Rodolfo was awarded the Nota 10 Postdoctoral Fellowship (2022–2024) and the Young Researcher of Rio de Janeiro State Award (2024), both granted by FAPERJ. Currently, his main research interests include the systematics and evolution of functional traits of marine organisms, metacommunity ecology, marine macroecology, and patterns of biodiversity distribution in the world’s oceans.

Thaynara Parente de Carvalho

AMBASSADOR

Thaynara is a veterinarian with a master’s and PhD in Animal Pathology from the Federal University of Minas Gerais (UFMG). She completed a postdoctoral fellowship at the University of California, Davis (UC Davis) and currently works as a professor at UFMG. She is passionate about science and One Health.

Thamyres Sabrina Gonçalves

AMBASSADOR

Thamyres is a geographer and forest engineer, a sertaneja, a Black and Indigenous woman, and the mother of a nine-year-old daughter. She is conducting a postdoctoral research project at the National Museum (UFRJ) and is a science grantee of Instituto Serrapilheira. In addition to open science, Thamyres is interested in collaborative, equitable, and diverse research. As a BrRN Ambassador, she aims to organize events to raise awareness within the community about the BrRN, as well as open science and reproducibility.

Vanessa de Souza Marinho

AMBASSADOR

Vanessa is a PhD student in Agriculture in the Humid Tropics at the National Institute of Amazonian Research (INPA) and works as a researcher in the Laboratory of Functional and Chemical Food Analyses, focusing on the development of functional foods and bioeconomy in the Amazon region. She is interested in initiatives that promote reproducibility and research integrity, believing that these principles are fundamental for the advancement of knowledge and for consolidating a more accessible and democratic science. As a BrRN Ambassador, she aims to actively contribute to the Brazilian Reproducibility Network by encouraging best practices at her institution and helping expand the reach of this movement in Brazil.
